INTROSPECT

Introspect - places responsibility for assessing the truth or falsehood of a situation in the hands of the individual. At the same time, it demands that each individual rely on objective, rational standards. And what is “society” other than a collection of individuals? When more individuals learn to introspect, and more Life Coaches and Therapist start practicing good cognitive methods, we can expect society to be a better place to live.

Life Coaches and Psychotherapists as a profession enjoy a tremendously significant influence on individual lives. It is therefore critical that they play a leading role in reintroducing logic and reason into the lives of troubled people (our clients). Cognitive Therapy or coaching, introspection and the resulting rational philosophy of life can all contribute to a society in which there is less depression and anxiety, less drug addiction and less dependence on external authorities in every aspect of life. Most importantly, cognitive principals can help more individuals to be happy!

A healthy society starts with psychologically healthy individuals who have self-esteem and are independent. Such virtues are the natural by-products of rationality.

Rationality assumes a recognition that feelings are not the same as facts, and that a process of reason, including introspection, needs to be developed from the earliest age possible.

The ideas upon which bad life coaching and bad therapy rest (and which many otherwise decent, intelligent life coaches, psychotherapist and clients have allowed themselves to accept) are the root causes of many of today’s social problems. The cure for an unhappy America is the same as the cure for the unhappy individual: The correction of mistaken, illogical assumptions. How?

With the principles of good life coaching and good therapy, of course.
